Akira bound for NZ to judge Emerging Designers Awards

It’s time to shine a brighter light on New Zealand with the iD Dunedin Fashion Week just around the bend. The event has just cemented its legitimacy with the involvement of Australian fashion designer Akira Isogawa who, straight from his recent showings in Paris, will jet over to Dunedin to appear as guest judge for the 2011 iD International Emerging Designers Awards.

The award-winning designer himself will join the likes of Stefano Sopelza, project supervisor of the Mittelmoda Fashion Award, Italy, and highly renowned New Zealand designers Margi Robertson (Nom-D) and Tanya Carlson (Carlson) in a bid to crown this year’s ‘next big thing’ from NZ.

Akira will also be giving not-to-be-missed talks throughout the week on the subjects of fashion innovation, creativity, and shopping. Why not head over and see for yourself why everyone’s making all this fuss.

The iD International Emerging Designer Awards will take place on Thursday 7th April at the Lion Foundation Arena, Edgar Stadium, Dunedin. The 2011 iD Dunedin Fashion Show will take place on Friday 8th April and Saturday 9th April. Tickets available at www.idfashion.co.nz for $40-$110.
