Sex education gets a little too physical at US university

A ruckus is being made in the US over a live-sex presentation on the campus grounds of Northwestern University.

Professor John Michael Bailey invited students from his Human Sexuality class to observe a naked woman being stimulated with a motorised sex toy on stage, with around 120 students attending the demonstration but several walking out just as the sex toy was being turned on.

Said the Professor somewhat flippantly, “Sticks and stones may break your bones, but watching naked people on stage doing pleasurable things will never hurt you.”

The University’s Dean of Students, Burgwell Howard, said he was “somewhat surprised” by the demonstration but said it likely “falls within the broad range of academic freedoms – whether one approves or disapproves.”

Some 600 students are drawn to Bailey’s class a year, with punters guessing this number might double next semester, albeit with some undergrads possessing more motive than simply checking another unit off their course requirement list.
