So not from Ikea…

If you want a break from the mass produced and unassuming ‘assemble yourself’ furniture the far reaching Swedes have been offering, then we’re sure Furnitex 2011 will do the trick. Taking place at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre from the 21st to the 24th of July, Furnitex will be offering over 500 Australian exhibitors space to show off all their uniquely designed furniture products.

Visitors to the exhibition will be introduced to the best up and coming talent in the field of design that Australia has to offer. The VIVID or Vibrant Visions in Design Awards will be presented to the designers in the categories of Commercial, Concept, Student, and Green. Another highlight of the exhibition is expected to be the Furniture Australia Stand which will display 16 Victorian and Tasmanian manufacturers, many of which will be presenting their works for the first time. From we’ve seen so far, the furniture is stylish, practical, and refreshing in aesthetic.

Furnitex will be running from the 21st- 24th July 2011 at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
