Total New Order and absolute Joy Division

Few bands can keep dishing out compilations of their music while always maintaining credibility and not getting tagged with the criticism of ‘sold out’. The Beatles spring to mind, and even then we wouldn’t diss their record company for repackaging classic product for the sake of fresh sales simply because the constant output of quality product is warranted. On a more contemporary note, New Order are also given the okay when they dish out compilations, be it in the guise of modern remixes, B-sides, or simply stripped-down-to-the-basics classic tracks.

Warner Music Australia is proud to announce the release of ‘Total: From Joy Division To New Order’ – a single CD collection of tracks from two of the most important groups in British – nay, global – music history. The album brings together both bands, that shared several members – for the first time, showcasing hits as well as previously unreleased material.

Included are original single cuts of ‘Ceremony’, ‘Temptation’, ‘Blue Monday’, ‘Bizarre Love Triangle’, ‘True Faith’, all the way through to ‘Crystal’ and ‘Krafty’ plus previously unreleased track ‘Hellbent’. And that’s just on the New Order front. From Joy Division, there are original single cuts of ‘Transmission’, ‘Isolation’, ‘Atmosphere’, ‘She’s Lost Control’, and of course ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’.

Totally necessary for every record collection.

‘Total’ is out June 24.
