Marilyn Manson releases new album April 27

While Lana Del Ray was ‘Born To Die’ and Lady Gaga was simply ‘Born This Way’, Marilyn Manson tells us he’s a ‘Born Villain’ with the title of his new LP, due out April 27.

The debut single from the album ‘No Reflection’ is today available for download and can be heard here.

“The new record, put simply, has the ambition and determination of how I started making music in the first place,” says Manson says. “It sounds like the first record in that it’s not afraid to do anything. I had to remove myself from my lifestyle and start fresh.”

Manson also goes on to say the record sounds like what he used to listen to before making music himself: Killing Joke, Joy Division, Revolting Cocks, Bauhaus, and Nick Cave’s previous band, The Birthday Party.

Suffice to say, the record is very rhythm-driven with neo-gothic undertones throughout.

Marilyn Manson has cultivated a tumultuous relationship with the public via his genre-defying music and anti-status quo message of thinking for oneself. He’s had sold-out tours, protests, legal battles, adoration, hate, a one-time relationships with the gorgeous Dita von Teese and Rose McGowan, but above all reached more than 50 million records sales and a couple of Grammy nominations. Not bad for a guy in makeup and stack heels!
