Cirque du Soleil will be returning to Australia this year at the Grand Chapteau (big top) with their fresh production, Ovo (it’s Latin for ‘egg’). The critically-acclaimed show will tour nationally, showing at the Big Top on Thursday 13 September. The impulsive flash into a colourful ecosystem packed with liveliness, the show has already visited more than 15 cities in Canada, United States and Mexico since its 2009 debut. Indeed, there’s enough bonus drag here to make the cast of Priscilla blush.

With a cast of 54 performing artists from a range of 16 countries specialising in a spectacular array of acrobatic acts, the tale of insects as they energetically work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight, and even search for love is sure to be a spectacle.

Cirque du Soleil’s ‘Ovo’ is on at The Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park, Sydney from Friday 13 September – November 4 (season may be extended due to public demand. Tickets start at $60.50.

It then moves to Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth.
