Cocktails for a cause

Over the past four years, Kathmandu Kids – a Perth-based and operated charity organisation – has raised over $100,000 to benefit the kids of the Kalimati Slums of Kathmandu, Nepal.

There’s nothing better than enjoying a drink inthe name of goodwill, hence much of these funds have been raised through an annual Kathmandu Kids Cocktail Party and Auction, which is on again Monday 2 September, 2013.

The venue is Perth’s up-market roof top bar ‘The Conservatory’, above Carnegies at 356 Murray Street, complete with retractable roof that boasts one of the best views Perth City has to offer.

So where does the money go to? To school fees, transport, uniforms, books and stationary mainly –for 100 children for the entire year. Now that’s progress! Part proceeds also go toward tuition, pre-school activities, and the running of a training centre that equips parents with employable skills – so Kathmandu Kids actually goes beyond supporting the impoverished Nepalese youth.
