Justin Timberlake scoops MTV Video Music Awards

The MTV Video Music Awards were without a host this year, but somehow the show went on. Mind you, the amount of times Justin Timberlake took to the stage (performing, accepting awards), he may has well just stayed up there the whole night and run the whole proceedings.

Timberlake won a plethora of awards including ‘Video Of The Year’ (for his song Mirrors), ‘Best Editing’ and ‘Best Direction’, and the prestigious ‘Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award’. JT delivered a 16-minute performance that even featured a reunion with old band members from ’N Sync.

Other winners on the night included Macklemore & Ryan Lewis who nabbed three statues — for ‘Best Hip-Hop Video’ and ‘Best Cinematography’ (Can’t Hold Us) and – get this – ‘Best Video With a Social Message’ (Same Love), while Bruno Mars earned two, for ‘Best Male Video’ (Locked Out Of Heaven). and ‘Best Choreography’ (Treasure).

Taylor Swift picked up ‘Best Female Video’ (I Knew You Were Trouble) while

Selena Gomez won ‘Best Pop Video’ (Come And Get It).

‘Best Rock Video’ went to Jared Leto and his band 30 Seconds To Mars for the fairly epic montage that is Up In The Air.
