RIP Paul Walker of ‘Fast & Furious’ fame

The Fast & the Furious actor Paul Walker died in a car crash in Santa Clarita, California, on the weekend. Walker was a passenger in a friend’s car, the driver having lost control of his Porsche vehicle which slammed into a tree, killing them both on impact.

The driver has been identified as former speed racer Roger Rodas. He and Walker were on their way to a charity event for the actor’s own organisation, Reach Out Worldwide.

Paul Walker first came to prominence in Varsity Blues, and then went on to feature in five of the six Fast & Furious films, playing main character Brian O’Connor.

He died aged 40.
