They like big butts and they cannot lie…

Cosmetic surgery is something that continues to grow in popularity. No matter how much we all seek to try and emulate the ‘natural’ look, it’s almost impossible to keep your face looking good and your body looking tight as you continue to age! We are also being inundated with a constant stream of information about celebrities and fashions from all over the world every day, and with people like the Kardashians filling our screens and devices every day, there’s a lot of pressure on us to always look perfect.

Here’s a look at the top five trends in plastic surgery in 2015.

The Brazilian butt lift

Thanks to a certain Kim Kardashian and her amazing butt (and her popularisation of the ‘belfie’ – the butt selfie) many women – who are somewhat smaller in the derriere department – have been flocking to their plastic surgeons in the hopes of achieving the lofty butt heights of the Kardashian Klan. There has been unprecedented demand for butt augmentation and shaping of the buttocks. Your butt augmentation procedure will be quite simple: your doctor will perform liposuction on the waist and hips and then inject the fat into the buttocks, creating a firmer and rounder butt for the patient. This has been a very popular surgery as it creates a natural looking butt while giving the patient some great definition around the waist and hips. All in all, it’s a very womanly and natural surgery to have done.

Minimally invasive surgery

More people are turning to minimally invasive procedures like botox, fillers and photorejuvenation as a means to getting the faces and bodies that they want. These procedures will continue to grow in popularity as people seek short term fixes for their bodies. We will also see more men and younger people undergoing these procedures, as young people realise the value of early anti-aging intervention as a means of achieving the face that you want.

Freezing away the fat

As part of the non-invasive procedure gamut, there has been a rise in interest in the procedures where patients can have fat cells ‘frozen’ away. This procedure is done using lasers whereby the fat cells are blasted with a laser which then causes the fat to break down. It is removed from the body with the body’s own process so it doesn’t require invasive surgery to get results.

Selfie motivated surgery

As people become more present on social media, it’s more and more common for people to be looking to make their faces as presentable as possible. This has led to an increase in the number of surgeries whereby patients are getting combination fillers, botox and face lifts or photorejuvenation. Looking and feeling good is no longer as expensive as it used to be, and people are signing up for procedures more than ever before.

Breast augmentation

This continues to be a popular surgery, with many women choosing to undergo a breast augmentation surgery for their bodies. This is a very common and safe surgery, and as with any other cosmetic procedure, it pays to ensure that you are discussing your options with your surgeon and that you are aware of the risks.

I hope you enjoyed this list of the common plastic surgery trends and be sure to stay informed with any surgery you are considering! Your doctor should be happy to discuss any of your concerns or thoughts with you when you are considering a surgical or non-surgical procedure, so make sure yours does. Feel free to ask any questions as well, and ensure that you are aware of your doctor’s’ medical history and surgical history.  Eada Hudes
