Fast-paced and ever so Furious

The latest film in the Fast and the Furious franchise proves to audiences that you don’t need to be a petrol-head to enjoy its high-octane action. With a returning cast of favourites, including Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, Fate of the Furious promises thrilling car chases amidst a cyberterrorist’s threats of nuclear weaponary to begin a war.

Fast 8 country hops all the way from Cuba and the streets of New York City to the stark cold winter white of Russia. With flashy cars, a couple of good plot twists and a flawless fight scene where Jason Stratham demonstrates his famous lethal skills while juggling a coddled baby in a pram carrier, the fast pace never lets up.

For those hardcore action diehards, Clint Eastwood’s own son, Scott Eastwood, joins blockbuster alumni, Kurt Russell, in key roles. As a team, led by ‘Mr Nobody,’ the professional heisters fight the nefarious Cipher who is hell-bent on exacting revenge on Dominic Toretto while seeking to gain power over world governments.

WWE wrestling fans will also be awarded with the added bonus of seeing ‘The Rock’ perform his signature move, the ‘Rock Bottom’ on a security guard as he fights his way through a prison riot.

Fate of the Furious is a solid eighth entry into the high-grossing film series that have captivated audiences for over 16 years since the first instalmentplayed in cinemas back in 2001. As actors have proven time and time again in great action movies like The Transporter and The Italian Job, it’s not just the adventure, cool set pieces, and pyrotechnics that make a film work, but who sits in the driver’s seat.
