From drag to riches…

RuPaul @2x

In the world of entertainment, J.J. Abrams has become a name you can trust. In a career that spans over two decades, and includes working on some of the biggest franchises in movie and television history (Stars Wars, Star Trek, Lost, Westworld, to name just a few), this writer / director / producer extraordinaire has just about done it all. Just about…

His latest project, a collaboration with drag queen, gay icon and global superstar RuPaul, looks set to be another winner. Tentatively titled Queen, the TV series will look at the early life of RuPaul, from struggling artist to staple on the LGBTI scene to Queen Bee of all things queer.

And while it’s still early days, this creative pairing is sure to lead to something interesting. For when it comes to building an audience, no one does it better than these two titans of Tinseltown.

With recent news of RuPaul having just scored his second Emmy in two years for Outstanding Host (for RuPaul’s Drag Race), it looks like he may need to make even more space on his mantelpiece.  Chris Prindiville

‘Queen’ (or whatever its name might evolve into) looks like hitting international screens in early 2018.
