There’s no real need to turn to the US of A for good hip-hop by artists with one-letter monikers when we’ve got them right next door in New Zealand. Peter Wadams, better known by his stage name P-Money, is an NZ hip-hop DJ and producer most notable for his hit song ‘Everything’. It reached number one on the RIANZ Singles Charts and opens up his new album, aptly titled ‘Everything’. P-Money’s entry into the music industry was via DJ competitions and student radio. His come pretty far. Three albums released to date, work top-notch rappers including Scribe and Akon, and awards for ‘Best Producer’ (for his work on Scribe’s ‘The Crusader’) and ‘Songwriter Of The Year’ (at the New Zealand Music Awards) is nothing to sneeze at. Hear what all the fuss is about on his quality new LP, featuring ‘up’ tunes with ‘up’ titles like ‘Say Yeah’, ‘Big Things Pt 2’, ‘The Soul’ and ‘Angels’. |
